LIPOSCULPTURE & LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction is useful to recover corporal contour as it removes unwanted fat deposits located in the abdomen, back, hips, and thighs that haven´t disappear with diets or exercise through suction using cannulas or slim tubes (micro-cannulas) leaving minimum scars of no more than 2 mm. long.
Although it improves dramatically the abdominal contour, eliminating fat deposits, it doesn´t improve skin’s flaccidity or muscular enlargement of the abdominal wall. Neither is an obesity treatment.
Liposculpture is the same liposuction directed to mold and relocate fat volume where it is required.
Doctor César MartÃnez uses a technic called Tumescent Technique. This procedure consists in a surgical sculpting fat removal method which controls the bleeding by injecting anesthesia fluid into the tissues of the affected area. A large amount of the dilute saline solution (containing lidocaine and epinephrine) is injected into the fat beneath the skin, forcing the affected area to become firm and swollen. The Fluid causes deep restricted vasoconstriction which practically eliminates any surgical bleeding during the procedure and also controls the blood loss throughout the procedure, and thus increases the safety of the whole operation.
The level of pain after the surgery is lessened by the long-acting anesthetic effects of the injected solution. For the first couple of days, it is natural for you to experience some swelling and bruising in the affected region.
Surgery duration depends on the areas that shall be treated and could last from 1 to 3 hours. In small or medium liposuction the patient could return to her/his home after two hours of surgery, but in large scale liposuctions the patient shall stay in the hospital for one day. Recovery takes from 4 to 7 days. Afterwards, a post-operative bandeau shall be used during one and half month.
